Quinn Ewers Announces Return to Texas With Trading Card Inscription

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers announced he was returning to school Thursday with a unique inscription on a Panini trading card.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is returning to school for another season — and someone will have the trading card to commemorate it.

In a video posted Thursday, Ewers addresses the Longhorn community and can be seen writing his script in a journal. At the end of his statement, Ewers reveals a trading card while adding a custom “I’m coming back” inscription with his signature.

The card Ewers signs appears to be from Panini’s Select Draft Picks release. Ewers wasn’t part of the 2023 Select Draft Picks checklist, so collectors could expect this card to be part of the 2024 drop.

Ewers has also appeared in other Panini products like Prizm Draft Picks and high-end sets like Flawess, Immaculate, and National Treasures.

Despite leading Texas to the College Football Playoff, Ewers’ future with Texas had been unclear — especially with Arch Manning as the backup QB. 

The card cameo is the latest promotion from Ewers since signing an NIL deal with Panini in July 2023. The deal allows Panini the exclusive rights to make trading cards with Ewers’ autographs.

Manning also has an exclusive trading card deal with Panini.

“Growing up you always dreamt of having your own Panini trading card, so to partner with a brand like Panini is really special.,” Ewers said in a statement last July. “I look forward to working with Panini to ensure that UT fans can collect my cards.”
