Ali Trunks, Bryant Game-Worn Jersey Highlight Sotheby’s Sports Week Series

Highlighted by items from Muhammad Ali, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky, Sotheby’s Sports Week Series features six auctions with pieces from a variety of sports and eras.

The Los Angeles Lakers auction features 18 total items and is highlighted by a Bryant 2009 NBA Finals game-worn jersey. Estimated to sell for between $1.5 million and $2.5 million, Bryant wore the jersey during a 40-point performance in Game 1.

The Lakers auction also features the rim used when LeBron James broke the NBA’s all-time scoring record this past February as well as the jersey James wore when he scored his 38,000th point.

The one-item Thrilla in Manila auction features the trunks worn by Ali in his iconic 1975 fight against Joe Fraizer. Estimated to sell for between $4 million and $6 million, the trunks are signed by Ali and feature an inscription from his assistant trainer and corner man Drew Brown.

Other items of note include Michael Jordan’s 1985 “Shattered Backboard” jersey, a Novak Djokovic US Open game-used racket, an Ernie Banks 1970 game-worn and autographed jersey and Jordan’s 1996 NBA Finals Game 5 sneakers.
