Jerry Rice holds a variety of NFL records, but the title of most expensive San Francisco 49ers trading card isn’t one of them anymore.

PWCC Marketplace announced Friday night that current Niners QB Brock Purdy has shattered the team’s mark in a public auction with a $186,000 sale for his 2022 Panini National Treasures Platinum NFL Shield 1/1.

Graded a PSA 10/Auto 10, the RPA easily tops a 1997 Jerry Rice Metal Universe Green PMG that sold for $150,000 through PWCC in 2022.

According to PWCC, the Purdy RPA also cruised past previous high sales for a Niners QB. Trey Lance held the previous mark at $132,000 while highs for Steve Young and Joe Montana sit at $120,000 and $114,000.

A major highlight for PWCC’s December Premier Auction, Purdy’s RPA sale was only topped by a 1997 Michael Jordan Metal Universe Championship PMG BGS 9 that sold for $192,000.

Currently the heavy favorite for NFL MVP, Purdy has seen his card market explode in value since major injuries to Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo forced him into a starting role late last season. The Niners are 16-3 in the 19 games Purdy has started since last season.

The 49ers are also the current betting favorites to win the Super Bowl.
